After 18 years, it saddens me to say that today will be the last day I eat here. From poor cuts and quality meat to cheap sloppy thickening of sauces, this establishment has gone from a premier restaurant in Riverdale to average Chinese kitchen in the hood..... a sad day indeed...

After the name changed from Hunan balcony to anise it went down hill if any one knows where the original chef has gone let me know they use to have the best sesame chicken with all white meat and it was perfect every single time now it’s the typical mystery meat you would get in a hood spot .. miss them good ole days :(

If I could give this place no stars, I WOULD! The delivery man DEMANDED how much tip I give him and bullied me into how much he wanted! I felt threatened and I gave him the money scared! That is no way to treat a customer!! I will never order from here again!

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had , I know what I’m talking about . I recently ordered veg lomein there were no vegetables , only shredded shallots I’m not kidding . We need a real good Chinese restaurant in Riverdale

The place has made many changes since it changed its name. One of the changes is with the Chief. The restaurant is a lot cleaner but the food is inconstant. You can order the same dish week to week and changes from great to "I don't want to go back". They are offering a new menu and if you are into spicy food and are willing be pay above market prices it might be worth a try.Good Luck

Really great Chinese food. Fancier style. We have gone for lunch a couple of times. Solid pricing and really great food. This is definitely much better than typical take out Chinese places. Must try! Though I haven't tried it they also have a traditional Chinese menu.

Food is usually great. Christmas Eve though was a disaster. I would swear they used a substitute or new chef. It ruined their reputation in my eyes. Haven't been back since...
